About Yvonne Laurence, owner of Avalon Holistic Clinic & Retreat

Yvonne Laurence is the founder and owner of Avalon.  She is a licensed aesthetician with a focus on natural healing and skincare products.  Raised in the mountains of Virginia, Yvonne was introduced to the arts of natural medicine as a child.  She has studied under shamans and experts within the modalities of Native Americans, Chinese medicine and Celtic practices.  In addition, Yvonne has owned and operated Avalon Skin Care for more than seven years.  Her goal with Avalon is to provide nutritional counseling, meditation and other forms of healing arts to help improve a person’s self-esteem, motivations and overall physical well being.

Yvonne was born with the capacity to journey through an individual’s personal landscape.  As she travels within your physical form, she invites and allows an abundance of healing love and light to infuse every fiber and space.


Meet Our Associates

Marsha Carr
Studying Tai Chi for more than 10 years, Marsha is focusing her practice on students of all ages with arthritis, balance, stress, flexibility and range of motion issues.  She is registered with the Northern & Southern New England Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and is a member of the American Tai Chi Association and Tai Chi for Health Community.  Marsha is certified to teach Sun Style Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi for Osteoporosis, and Tai Chi for Back Pain programs developed by Dr. Paul Lam, MD and supported by the Arthritis Foundation of USA.  She also teaches Yang Style Simplified 24 Form for health and several Qigong sets.  Marsha is also a senior student of Paul Mahoney, founder of Great Bay Tai Chi and Movement Center.

Elizabeth C. Chadwick (Alaya)
Alaya Chadwick is an accomplished psychotherapist and owner of the (W)hole Point Institute.  She is a published author and national lecturer.  Alaya drew upon her 29+ years of practice and over 55,000 hours of listening to clients to develop the (W)hole Point Wisdom WAY for personal growth.  Prior to simultaneously obtaining two Master’s Degrees (a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work M.S.W. from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s Degree in Divinity with an emphasis on pastoral counseling from Yale University), Alaya worked in the business world of marketing research, hospital administration, and national sales.  She also held a faculty position at the Yale School of Medicine and held an associate faculty position at Yale’s Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit. Her experience and qualifications include:  M.Div., M.S.W., L.I.C.S.W., B.C.D., Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, Teaching Reiki Master, Certified Intuitive Healer, Jungian oriented Psychotherapist, Teacher, Author, and Master Storyteller.

Molly Schlangen
Molly Schlangen is a Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor and a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.  She is also the owner of Awakening Grace Yoga. She brings to the study of yoga her understanding of the human anatomy and physiology based on her professional background in nursing.  This background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama.  Molly has worked as a Registered Nurse in the areas of Community Health, Sports Rehabilitation and School Health.  Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Notre Dame College and has worked the areas of adolescent and family counseling. Her interests and focus include natural healing while using movement and meditation to help connect the body, mind and spirit.

Maureen Barber
Maureen Barber is a certified teacher with a bachelor’s of science degree in education from Keene State College and a master’s degree in science education from Lesley University. She has taught in the New Hampshire school systems for 12 years. Her goal is to teach whole body awareness and low GI eating choices.

John Butruccio
John Butruccio is a Life Coach and entrepreneur with more than 23 years of business ownership and entrepreneurial experience and successfully mentoring and motivating people. The ability to quickly bond with others is what fuels his passion to help people empower themselves.

Julie Corey
Julie Corey, BS, LMT, Reiki Master, has been a professional drum circle facilitator, teacher and performing musician since 1998.  In the past 5 years, Julie has been facilitating drum circles for the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” programs, “WE CAN” weekends, as well as with local breast cancer survivor groups.  She is a REMO endorsed “Drum Circle Facilitator,” one of a few women in the world.  She is currently listed on the NH Arts Council Roster for “Arts in Health Care” programs.  Julie also provides monthly activities for Boston University Sargent Center programs, including community drum circles for college groups and staff.

Curtis Harriott
Curtis is the facilities manager for Avalon.  He holds an associate’s degree in Natural Resources and Wildlife Conservation from Essex Technical Institute. He has worked as a facility manager for Avalon for three years.

Jason Atkins
Jason Atkins is actively involved in wellness and physical development activities and is a certified Reiki practitioner. He is also a licensed massage therapist in the state of Maine, offering his client base a range of massage disciplines including Swedish, Deep Tissue and Reiki. In addition, he has studied mixed martial arts such as Tang Soo Do, Muay Thai, Jujutsu, Hapkido and more, for the past 13 years.

Come meet our favorite canine buddy, Logan.   He is a loving caretaker and enjoys hanging out and relaxing with Avalon’s clients and visitors.
